Too often children are diagnosed with neurodevelopmental conditions by health professionals who make little effort to educate parents, educators or the child themselves in understanding their neurodivergent profile. Whilst a diagnosis can be the start of the journey for a person in understanding their strengths and challenges, a profiling assessment attempts to really get to know your, or your child's, profile.
Doctor Jo reviews you diagnostic report, and any other documentation you have to get a better sense of you or your child.
A 1-hour meeting online or in clinic to get a better sense of your child's presentation, with specific follow up questions based on our review of your reports.
A 30-minute appointment where a clinical psychologist meets your child, and observes their behaviour. We may engage in activities, free play, or for adolescents, ask more in-depth questions about their experience.
We write a report which offers:
- A clinical opinion on your child's profile
- Makes helpful recommendations which schools and families can implement to support the child
- Makes any recommendations for follow ups (e.g. support sessions, intervention with other health professionals)
