At Doctor Jo we understand that many people wait for assessments and that it is not financially viable to access private assessments. Our neurodiversity screening assessment aims to provide further insight how to help a child who is waiting for Autism or ADHD assessment.
Carefully selected screening measures are sent to you to gain an understanding of your child's presentation. We can focus on Autism, ADHD or both.
A clinical psychologist meets with you online or in clinic to ask tailored follow up questions based on your responses to screening measures. We gain a sense of your child's history, difficulties and strengths to make psychologically-informed recommendations.
A clinical psychologist meets your child, and observes their behaviour. We may engage in activities, free play, or for adolescents, ask more in-depth questions about their experience.
We write a report which offers:
- A clinical indication of whether it is likely your child will meet criteria for Autism Spectrum Condition and/or ADHD.
- Makes helpful recommendations which schools and families can implement to support the child
- Makes any recommendations for follow ups (e.g. support sessions, intervention with other health professionals)
